(trumpet, French horn, trombone, euphonium, and tuba), and music theory lessons.

Bi-weekly lessons, 45-minute lessons, and no-commitment trial lessons may be arranged

depending on scheduling availability.

45 minutes - $45

60 minutes - $55

  • PAYMENT:

Fees are charged monthly and are to be paid in advance by cash, cheque, or e-transfer on or before the first of each month. There is an annual registration fee of $25/student (or $40/family if multiple students are enrolled) billed at the start of the school year in September or upon registration if beginning lessons mid-year. Lesson fees do not include the cost of lesson books. After an appropriate level has been determined, you will be asked to pick up the required books.

  • CANCELLATIONS:

48 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson for any non-emergency. Emergencies such as sudden and severe illness or injury, family emergency, etc. will be dealt with on a case by case basis. Students are expected to attend at least 50% of all regularly scheduled lessons in a month in order to keep their reserved time slot. Should Tristan have to cancel a lesson, a make-up lesson will be scheduled or credit will be applied towards the following month.

Please arrive punctually. Extra time will not be given for late arrivals.

Ceasing lessons altogether requires a minimum of 7 days' notice before the first of the next month. If fewer than 7 days' notice is given, fees for the following month will still be charged and due on the first.

  • PRACTICE:

Students are required to have their own instrument at home or access to an instrument for the purpose of regular practice. It is recommended that students be practicing 15-30 minutes a day, 5 days a week in order to see steady progress. Older/more advanced students may be required to practice more.

  • HEALTH & SAFETY:

In order to minimize the spread of germs, and given extra care and emphasis due to the global Covid-19 pandemic, the following policies have been implemented: while young students are not required to be vaccinated against Covid-19, it is asked that parents wishing to sit in during the lesson be fully vaccinated. Hand sanitizer will be provided by the entrance and required of students/parents arriving for their lesson and high-contact surfaces will be cleaned regularly with disinfectant. Masks are no longer a hard and fast requirement, however they are still strongly encouraged. If you have recently been sick, regardless of the severity of the illness, please do not come for a lesson as it risks transferring germs to others. As detailed above, lessons may be rescheduled or credit carried forward for lessons cancelled due to sickness.
