Accepting new students of all ages and skill levels!

Contact me for more details.

Tristan takes a goal oriented approach with his students, encouraging musical exploration and a focus on the specific areas of music that interest each individual student. His students have successfully completed Royal Conservatory of Music exams, competed in local music festivals, been awarded scholarships to summer music camps, participated in regional honour bands, and been accepted to university music programs across the country.

See below for a list of Tristan's music studio policies.

  • Lessons are available in piano, brass (trumpet, French horn, trombone, euphonium, and tuba), and Western music theory.

  • Lessons are offered with the option of 30 minute or 60 minute weekly time slots. Bi-weekly lessons and 45 minute lessons may be arranged depending on scheduling availability.

  • Payments are to be made monthly by cheque, cash, or e-transfer on or before the first lesson of each month.

  • Lesson fees do not include the cost of lesson books. After an appropriate level has been determined, you will be asked to pick up the required books.

  • 48 hours notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Emergencies such as sudden and severe illness or injury, family emergency, etc. will be dealt with on a case by case basis. Students are expected to attend at least 50% of all regularly scheduled lessons in a month in order to keep their reserved time slot.

  • Please arrive punctually. Extra time will not be given for late arrivals.

  • Should Tristan have to cancel a lesson, a make-up lesson will be scheduled or credit will be applied towards the following month.

  • Termination of lessons requires four weeks written notice. Payment for those four weeks is required whether or not the student attends lessons during that time.

  • Students are required to have their own instrument at home or access to an instrument for the purpose of regular practice.

  • Photographs and videos may be taken during lessons for promotional use online. Please provide written notification if you would like exemption from this.

  • In order to minimize the spread of germs, and given extra care and emphasis due to the global Covid-19 pandemic, the following policies have been implemented: while young students are not required to be vaccinated against Covid-19, it is asked that parents wishing to sit in during the lesson be fully vaccinated. Hand sanitizer will be provided by the entrance and required of students/parents arriving for their lesson and high-contact surfaces will be cleaned regularly with disinfectant. Masks are no longer a hard and fast requirement, however they are still strongly encouraged. If you have recently been sick, regardless of the severity of the illness, please do not come for a lesson as it risks transferring germs to others. As detailed above, lessons may be rescheduled or credit carried forward for lessons cancelled due to sickness.
